PALMA DE MALLORCA, SPAIN-(23-3-2005) The 36th edition of the Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofía – Madrid 2012, which is being held from 21 to 25 March in the Bay of Palma, has gathered 489 boats from 11 classes representing 34 nations.
The total number of competitors is 747, with two crew members is some classes (470, 49er and Tornado) and three crew members in others (Dragon and Yngling).
The Europe class has the biggest fleet with 96 entries followed by the 67 Lasers and the 48 entries in the 49er class. Considering the high number of entries, these classes are sailing groups.
The 36 Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofía-Madrid 2012 is organised by the Federación Balear de Vela and the Real Federación Española de Vela, together with Real Club Náutico de Palma (venue of the cruisers, Yngling and Dragon), Club Náutico de s'Arenal (470, Finn, 49er and Tornado), Club Náutico San Antonio de la Playa (Europe and Mistral) and Escuela de Vela Calanova (Laser andl Laser Radial).
